2015 summer transfer window: Ins & Outs

The Red Devils confirmed the signings of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Matteo Darmian

Premier League transfer spending has increased practically every season with more money being pumped into the league through sponsors, TV deals and partnerships. Teams have access to bigger coffers of money which makes for higher spending in hopes of raising the level of quality of their team. The spending this year by EPL teams in the transfer window has been reflective of the huge amount of money they have access to.

EPL clubs have spent above £500m in the transfer window this summer alone. To put that in perspective, it just falls short of last year's transfer spending in both windows by £335m.

Las season, clubs spent a total amount of £835 million which is currently the highest ever in the history of the EPL but with the new TV deal kicking in, experts told the BBC that the record is likely to be broken this season. The deal with BT Sports is worth £897 million for the clubs and is kicking in this season which also means an increased number of games on Friday nights as well.

Here’s a graph on the EPL clubs’ transfer spending since 2004:
