Inter Milan, Juventus and Napoli fined for fans' behaviour

Inter Milan have been fined after fans were caught chanting racial abuse at AC Milan‘s new signing, Mario Balotelli.

Balotelli joined AC Milan from Manchester City in January and Inter Milan have been fined 15,000 euros (£12,900) after racist chants from their fans were directed towards AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli in a match against Chievo.

Juventus were also fined after the fans were heard singing territorial chants about rivals Napoli.

Napoli fans were fined because the fans were caught flashing a laser at the referee, Daniele Orsato.

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti was quick to react and urged the fans to stop such behaviour. He hoped that such an incident won’t happen when Inter Milan face AC Milan on 24 February.

“I was told about it because I couldn’t make out clearly what they were saying. I’m very sorry about that,” Moratti said. “I’m very sorry and I really hope it doesn’t happen during the derby.”

Earlier this month, AC Milan vice-president Paolo Berlusconi was accused of using racist language to describe 22-year-old Italy international Balotelli.
