Inter Milan Transfers News: Swoop for Kaka Imminent?

As the transfer market threatens to shut down in nine days, news regarding Inter Milan‘s interest in Kaka has emerged, serving as the latest juicy story in this season’s rumour mill.  Inter Milan, who are about to lose Samuel Eto’o to Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, are reported to be in a ‘last minute’ rush to find the suitable replacement. Spanish Sports paper “Marca” opens today’s edition with an interesting theory – or possibility  that Inter Milan will make a call to Real Madrid to attempt to bring the former Milan man to Inter.

It is well known that Kaka is not the preferred midfielder for Real Madrid Coach Jose Mourinho. Ahead of the Brazilian in the pecking order is Ozil, and soon Sahin will be ahead of Kaka when the Turk gets over his knee complaint. Kaka has not complained of the lack of playing time and has taken the fall in a good natured way.  The fact is that he is not the same Kaka who was bought from Milan, the maestro who won the Ballon d’Or and led Milan to European glory.

Injuries have been the main cause of Kaka’s downfall, and recovery has been hard, long and painful, resulting in the player losing his sharpness and agility.  Real Madrid have been willing to listen to offers for Kaka and had placed a 40-45M€ transfer price on his head. However, Marca has now reported that Real are now willing to lower that price to 30M€, which has stimulated Inter Milan’s interest.

AC Milan had earlier showed interest in bringing back their star man, but withdrew the offer due to his 10M€ / year salary, but now it seems Kaka’s potential move back to the San Siro was not totally impossible at all. It was reported that Arsenal had enquired about a possible loan for Kaka, and it seems that this option is still open.  Inter are strongly after Diego Forlan of Atletico Madrid as the replacement for Samuel Eto’o, but they are also studying Kaka, bringing in who will rub their cross city rivals the wrong way and create plenty of controversy and hostility between the hated neighbours.
Kaka is desperately in need of playing time to regain his former self, which he is not assured of at Real Madrid.  Given this situation, he could be a useful addition to grand plans of Massimo Moratti who plans for life without Samuel Eto’o, who was the Nerazzurri’s main man last season.

Stay tuned, we may well see interesting developments in the coming days.
