What's the story?

Bengaluru FC are flying high in the Indian Super League (ISL) and fans of the Karnataka-based team are on cloud nine following a hugely successful start to their life in the ISL. A lot of credit for this remarkable debut season has to go to the players at the club, with special reference to one Edu Garcia.

Now, however, the versatile Spaniard has decided to move on from the club, following a move to China with Zhejiang Lǜchéng in the Chinese League One. But it is clear from Edu's activity on Twitter, that he is indebted to Bengaluru FC and their fans for his time at the club.

In case you didn't know...

Edu scored two goals and notched up five assists in his time at Bengaluru FC and was pivotal in the club's domination of the ISL from practically the first whistle. A bargain signing, there is no doubt that he has to be considered one of the best buys in the ISL this season.

The heart of the matter

Edu Garcia did indeed share a very special bond with the club and its fans and he was quick to thank everyone involved at the club for his time there. It may be considered easy to be this thankful when you're part of a winning team, but Edu played with his heart on his sleeve and was often one of the most dedicated players on the pitch.

It is estimated that Zhejiang Lǜchéng paid $150,000 USD or ₹98 Lakhs to acquire his services which is a significant jump from what he was earning in India with Bengaluru FC.

What's next?

Bengaluru FC will look to continue their good form even without Edu as they play Jamshedpur FC in the ISL on Sunday.

Author's take

Edu was a wonderful servant for Bengaluru FC and there is no doubt that he will be sorely missed around the club and indeed the city.
