ISL 2017/18: Malayalam commentator goes crazy as Hume scores a hat-trick against Delhi Dynamos, watch video
What's the story?
Kerala Blasters managed to secure a much-needed three points following their 3-1 win over Delhi Dynamos yesterday but the script was written for one Iain Hume. The Canadian forward showed his class yet again as he bagged a hat-trick to give his team a huge boost in their quest for Indian Super League (ISL) supremacy.
ISL commentator and anchor Anant Tyagi, however, brings our attention to one of the Malayalam commentators for the night, Shaijumon whose infectious passion is there for everyone's amusement as well as praise. Check it out.
In case you didn't know...
The ISL broadcast in India allows viewing in several regional languages with Malayalam being one of them. Looking at this commentary performance, many of us may be shifting over to Malayalam commentary now!
The heart of the matter
The video itself is a minute or so long and showcases the very best of our regional voices with Shaijumon showing the excitement of a five-year-old receiving a free ice-cream from the vendor.
He doesn't even stop to take a breath during his speech as he goes on gushing about the magnificence of Kerala's top man Iain Hume. His praise transcends every single other happening in the game and makes for one hilarious yet praiseworthy piece of commentary, one which Anant Tyagi himself claims he needs to learn from. Classic indeed.
What's next?
Malayalam commentary is expected to be on fire again when Kerala Blasters play their next game in the ISL against Mumbai City FC on the 14th of January at 8 PM on the Star Sports Network.
Author's take
This particular commentary performance was one for the ages and would have given stiff competition to the legendary Spanish and Arabic commentators we love so much. The excitement is palpable and it makes you want to listen for hours on end.
