ISL 2017/18, Match 76: Chennaiyin FC vs Jamshedpur FC, Player Ratings

Match 76 of ISL witnessed Chennaiyin FC, ISL Season 3 champions host newcomers Jamshedpur FC at the Marina Arena in Chennai.

The match ended in an exciting 1-1 draw as Wellington Priori's stunning strike in the first half was cancelled out at the end by a header from Mohammed Rafi. Both the teams stay in contention for playoff spots.

Karanjit Singh (5/10) - The Chennaiyin FC keeper was called into action on a couple of occasions in the first half before he was beaten by a stunning volley by Wellington Priori. He had a relatively quiet second half as Jamshedpur could not manage many attacking returns.

Inigo Calderon (6.5/10) - The right-back kept charging the flank making good overlapping runs. He put in good crosses from the right into the box for the attackers.

Mailson Alves (6.5/10) - The central defender was a strong presence in the Chennaiyin defence as he played with intensity at the back. He was an option in the attack during setpieces as well.

Henrique Sereno (6/10) - The Chennaiyin skipper played the tough tackler in the defence as he did not allow Sumeet Passi any space in the attack. He was the go-to man during corners for the home side.

Jerry Lalrinzuala (6.5/10) - The left-back was up against the dual threat of Jerry Mawhmingthanga and Souvik Chakrabarti on his flank. He dealt with them well and even attacked with great intent putting in good crosses.

Germanpreet Singh (5.5/10) - The former Minerva Punjab FC man played the sweeper role in the midfield as he moved back and forth in the centre. He did well to put in crucial tackles and broke up attacking moves of the visitors.

Bikramjit Singh (5.5/10) - The midfielder played alongside Germanpreet Singh but was involved more in the attacking department of the game. He moved across both the sides of the box and did well to support the forwards.

Jaime Gavilan (6/10) - The Spaniard was deployed in a wide role by John Gregory and did not look in his elements initially. Later, he moved to the centre and did well on setpieces as well before being subbed for Rene Mihelic.

Raphael Augusto (6.5/10) - The Brazilian was the major attacking influence in the midfield for the home side. He had a lot of efforts on the goal but never found the target. He did well to find holes in the Jamshedpur defence with good through-balls for Jeje and the wingers ahead of him.

Francisco Fernandes (6/10) - The Goan winger played on both the wings for the home side and did well on the flanks with his incisive runs into the box.

Jeje Lalpekhlua (4.5/10) - The Indian international striker struggled against the solid and resistive Jamshedpur defence as he did not manage a single shot on target for the home side.

Substitutes:

Rene Mihelic (5/10) - The Slovenian midfielder replaced Jaime Gavilan in the second half of the match. He provided the assist for the equalizer as Rafi nodded in his corner in the dying minutes of the second half.

Anirudh Thapa (4/10) - The Indian midfielder came on to replace Bikramjit Singh as Gregory introduced fresh legs in the midfield.

Mohammed Rafi (5.5/10) - The 'Super Sub' for the night got the equalizing goal in the 89th minute of the match as he headed in a corner by fellow substitute Rene Mihelic.
