ISL 2017/18: Sachin Tendulkar congratulates Kerala Blasters captain Sandesh Jhingan on his 50th appearance
What's the story?
Sandesh Jhingan has become the first Indian to make 50 appearances in the Indian Super League (ISL) after Wednesday's match between Kerala Blasters and Delhi Dynamos.
Indian cricketing legend and co-owner of the Kerala Blasters decided to congratulate his skipper with this tweet, "Half century done! Now, double it up. You are doing a fabulous job for the @KeralaBlasters. Keep it up. My best wishes to you always, @SandeshJhingan."
In case you didn't know
Ian Hume had already clocked up 50 appearances in the ISL and Jhingan became the second player and the first Indian to achieve the feat. He also became the first player to make 50 appearances for the same team in the ISL.
The heart of the matter
On Thursday evening, Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to congratulate the fan-favourite on achieving the feat which no other Indian has ever achieved. He also urged the centre back to keep giving the same level of performances over the coming years.

In the four seasons of ISL, the Kerala Blasters defender has been a regular for the club and has cemented his place in the national team as well over the period.
The 24-year old could easily go down as one of the legends for Blasters in the days to come.
What next?
After helping his team to a win in his 50th appearance, Jhingan would be hoping to push on and get his team to the knockout stages despite enjoying a poor start to the season.
Author's take
It is a nice gesture from the cricketing legend. For Jhingan, it would have especially felt good to be congratulated by the hero of the country. This would certainly prove to be a morale booster for the Kerala Blasters captain.
