ISL 2017: ATK and Kerala Blasters fans indulge in Twitter battle over Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar
Ahead of tonight's ISL opener between reigning champions ATK and Season 3 finalists Kerala Blasters, the excitement for Season 4 has truly reached sky high. The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi is expected to be a full house with a grand opening ceremony also in store for the supporters, featuring some of the biggest stars from the world of Bollywood.
The match between the two teams promises to be a memorable one - given the quality on display across both sides. The Blasters will be led by Indian national team defender Sandesh Jhingan and the side from Bengal will be captained by Jordi Figueras in the absence of skipper Robbie Keane.
Both these teams have a loyal set of supporters who back their side at the stadium and on social media. Recently, the Blasters and the ATK fan base took to Twitter to have a bit of banter at the expense of each other. The topic of the day was the two co-owners of these two teams, namely Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.
ATK fans are confident of giving the Blasters an opening day defeat at their own fortress and boasted about the presence of their dear "Dada" - the Prince of Kolkata at Kochi. On one hand, the champions' troops were backing the great Indian captain whereas the Blasters were reminding the ATK fans about the legend of Sachin Tendulkar.
The legendary cricketing duo who made records after records while batting together will now come head to head for the season opener. Fans had their day out on Twitter to compare the two co-owners and now all the eyes will be at the stadium in Kochi, to see if Dada gets the better of the God or the other way around.
