ISL 2017: Bengaluru FC appoint former Barcelona youth coach Marc HuguetÂ
What's the story?
The unfortunate departure of Bengaluru FC Assistant Coach Carlos Cuadrat was a big blow to the club's hopes of securing a strong position in the Indian Super League (ISL) standings, but some good news is on the horizon for Bengaluru fans as the club has announced their latest assistant managerial appointment as being former Barcelona FC Youth Coach Marc Huguet.
Current Bengaluru FC boss Albert Roca has been a long time friend of Marc Huguet and it is believed that their relationship may bring about a positive change for the club looking to regain top spot in the league.
In case you didn't know...
Marc Huguet was Barcelona Youth Team Coach more than ten years ago but has proved himself during his stint in Catalonia and hopes are high that he could replicate some of that Barcelona class at Bengaluru FC.
The heart of the matter
Albert Roca has been visibly happy considering Bengaluru FC's decent position in the table but with the sudden departure of Carlos Cuadrat due to health concerns, nothing has been taken for granted.
In the appointment of Marc Huguet however, Bengaluru have found a Coach capable of getting the best out of young players with the coach having worked with superstars such as Sergio Busquets, Rafinha, Bojan and Delefeou.
What's next?
Bengaluru FC faces Kolkata outfit ATK in their next ISL encounter where Marc Huguet is expected to make his ISL assistant managerial bow.
Author's take
The appointment of a former Barcelona Youth Coach is a welcome change in the Bengaluru FC ranks even if it came at the cost of Carlos Cuadrat and the fans of the club should be hopeful of some even better performances especially considering the close relationship between Huguet and Head Coach at the club, Albert Roca.
