Chennaiyin FC kicked off their ISL season at home against FC Goa in what was truly a game of two halves. FC Goa started their season with a bang, scoring 3 goals in the first half, in what turned out to be a completely one-sided half. Chennaiyin pulled up their socks and came out all guns blazing in the second half to get two goals back and reduce the margin of defeat. However, they couldn't equalise and Goa walked away with all three points.

Let's take a look at the player ratings of today's game.

Karanjit Singh (4.5) - Poor shot stopping, sub-par anticipation and some rash decisions were the highlights of one of Karanjit's worst games ever.

Inigo Calderon (7.5) - The Chennaiyin defender was poor in the first half but scored in the second half to make up for his errors.

Sereno (6.5) - Sereno had a night to forget. He was good in patches but the combination-play with others was missing.

Jerry (6) - Jerry couldn’t perform to his potential. He was not very bad going forward but his defending was poor as Brandon and Mandar got past him with ease.

Mailson (5.5) - Mailson was all over the place and did not help his fellow defenders in any which way.

Dhanachandra (4) - Probably had the worst game, Dhana was beaten all ends up a couple of times and he failed to cope up with the pace of Mandar and Brandon.

Raphael (8) - Was one of the few Chennaiyin players who ran his heart out and went charging for every ball, he even scored via a penalty.

Thoi (6) - Thoi did a lot of running but wasn't productive in any way. His anticipation and passing were also missing.

Mihelic (5) - The midfielder was nowhere near his best and was overrun by the Goa midfielders in the first half.

Jeje (6.50) - Jeje tried his best but didn't have a game to remember as he rarely found the ball at his feet.

Bodo (6) - It was not a dream debut for the 18-year-old but he showed his class at instances to get past Narayan with some fine touches and turns.
