FC Goa lived up to their name in their first ISL 2017 match. The Gaurs were part of a thrilling 3-2 win against Chennaiyin FC. Playing away from home, they were refreshingly attacking and never let the home side settle on the ball.

Going ahead, Goa's coach, Sergio Lobera admitted that given his team's style of play, they are bound to concede goals. But he assured the fans that his player will continue to put on a show, come what may.

"The primary idea is to make sure the fans are entertained. Fans should be excited when we play. When a team attacks, you automatically assume risks. The way we play, once we take the lead, we won't sit back, regardless of the scoreline," he explained

Lobera believes he has now managed to instill a certain style of play within the team over the past three months. He has no intentions of changing it because he believes the team plays at their optimum when they play attacking football.

"When a team wants to perform well, they have to stick to their ideology and methodology. The moment you try and do something different, the performances won't be as good. We shall stick to our philosophy," stated the Mumbai coach.

Speaking about their game against Mumbai on Saturday, the coach suggested that he has completely forgotten about their victory in the first match. Lobera reckons it's dangerous to live in the past, especially in a tournament like ISL where most teams are on equal footing.

"We did have a good first game but living in the past will not get us anywhere. It's time to focus on tomorrows game. I am pleasantly surprised with the organisation of the league. All the teams are competitive, which is great for the fans," he signed off.
