ISL 2017: Five most astonishing records from the last 3 seasons
The Indian Super League heads into its fourth edition on Friday and promises to be the biggest edition of the competition so far, as the number of games rises from 61 to 95 this season, after the introduction of Bengaluru FC and Jamshedpur FC.
The teams have returned from their pre-season programs and are taking the final steps before opening their accounts for ISL 2017, which kicks off with a rematch of last year's final between ATK and Kerala Blasters. But before we move forward to Season 4, let's take a trip down memory lane with the top five statistics from the past three seasons that will certainly surprise you.
ISL's Youngest Goal Scorer
When he was signed by Chennaiyin FC in 2016 as one of the five players that would train at FC Metz, nobody would have thought that Jerry Lalrinzuala would make it to the first team at the age of 18, let alone start a game.
But after impressing Marco Materazzi in pre-season, he played 13 of Chennaiyin FC's 14 games in ISL 2016 and became the ISL's youngest goalscorer at just 18 years and 146 days, when he scored a wonderful free-kick against FC Goa in a 5-4 thriller.
