ISL 2017: Jamshedpur FC arrange for special buses to ferry elderly and specially enabled fans
What's the story?
In a bid to enhance excitement levels in the hearts of elderly and specially enabled fans, a number of changes will be undertaken by Jamshedpur FC as they get set to host their first match of the season against ATK.
The employment of buses to ferry the elderly and disabled fans to the stadium is one of the major talking points while designated parking spaces and the installation of CCTV cameras all around the stadium is all set to take place, a club official confirmed to Sportskeeda.
In case you didn't know
Jamshedpur FC, the latest entrants into the Indian Super League will be playing all their home encounters at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, which can host up to 23,000 spectators and is used for various sports such as archery, basketball etc.
The heart of the Matter
In addition to the bus service, parking spaces would not be available for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers while the security personnel number has been beefed up by police to 800 in number while the entry of heavy vehicles such as trucks and trailers until 12 in the midnight would be disallowed such that the passage of traffic is smoother on match days.
While traffic curbs would indeed help fans get to the stadium faster, parking zones will be laid out in the city, which would help fans who travel to the stadium by their own transportation to park and enter the stadium apart from which 95 state-of-the-art CCTV cameras would maintain a strict vigil inside the stadium.
What's next?
Debutants Jamshedpur FC are all set to host inaugural champions Atletico de Kolkata on December 1, which will be the first time the JRD Sports Complex will be hosting an ISL match.
Author's Take
The decision to make the experience richer for the elderly is indeed a fantastic move given that the ISL is going to be played for the first time in the city which could see thousands thronging to the stadium to support their home team.
