ISL 2017: Kerala Blasters, ATK fans get into war of words over newly launched home kit
Indian Super League (ISL) runners up from last year, Kerala Blasters FC announced the launch of their latest home kit in Kochi, on Saturday, ahead of the fourth season of the ISL.
The launch of their kit was attended by a few of their top players like Ajith Sevan and Rino Anto. However, the presence of one particular player was the real factor in drawing the crowds to the kit-launching event. That player is none other than their star Canadian striker Iain Hume, who had spent a couple of seasons at ATK, before moving back to Kerala.
With the new kit launched, it was now time to see what the Kerala fans thought of their side’s new home jersey.
There were a few positive responses to the post on Kerala Blasters’ official Facebook page:
And there were a few negative responses as well:
However, what drew our attention, was one particular conversation on the post, where an ATK fan suddenly decided to let his opinion about Kerala’s kit be known.
While this did not go down too well with the ATK fan also did not back down, as he went on to taunt the Kerala Blasters fans, with memories from the 2014 and the 2016 ISL finals, both of which were won by ATK against the Blasters in the summit clash.
This little fight continued for quite some time, so we will let you decide, who came out as the winner in the end.
These kinds of discussions on the pages of the football clubs just goes on to show that levels of rivalry that the clubs’ fans have formed with each other, and the bragging rights, which they are so desperate to get. However, what is good to see is that both the parties have kept the sanctity of their clubs intact, and have not gotten into any form of ugly confrontation. It is, after all, just a game.
