ISL 2017: Kerala Blasters, Bengaluru FC fans nominated for fan club of the year
Being a cricketing country, India had not got much popularity for football in India. Except the Kolkata Derby, there was not much support for football clubs around the country. Indian Super League made a change to this. From 2014 we have seen fans club been created, chants and songs made for the teams to support them during the game.
Manjappada is a fan group created to support the Kerala Based ISL team. It is a global fan group, with branches across India, the Middle East and in Europe. They have made numerous songs and chants for the players and the club since their inception, making their presence felt in all the ISL matches across, and have also supported the team when they went abroad for pre-season training.Bengaluru FC fans group, the West Block Blues are also famous. They dominate the Sree Kanteerava Stadium with chants and huge banners. The presence of on the West Block Blues has made it difficult for the any opposition to play at Sree Kanteerava Stadium.
This year the inaugural Indian Sports Honours will be held at Mumbai on November 11. Fan Club of the Year is one of the categories in which the awards will be given. Four fans group had been nominated for the awards, and Manjappada and the West Black Blues have made it into the list. Fans can vote for the award till midnight November 10 through the Facebook page of Indian Sports Honours (Indian Sports Honours)
With Bengaluru FC joining ISL the rivalry between the the two fans was expected to be intense, and both groups have been planing how to support their respective teams. Now both sets of fans have proved that they are one of the best in India. Lets wait till November 11 to see who wins the award this year.
