What's the story?

The Kerala Blasters hosted Jamshedpur FC in what was either side's second match in the ISL 2017 on Friday

The Blasters fans are renowned for their passion and affection towards their team and they gave another fine example of it before the match against the ISL debutants.

While the lineups were being announced at the stadium ahead of the match, the Kerala faithful reserved a special cheer and round of applause when the names of Jamshedpur midfielder Mehtab Hossain and manager Steve Coppell, both of whom have been part of the Blasters' camp earlier, were relayed.

In case you didn't know

Jamshedpur FC are managed by former Reading head coach Coppell, who was in charge of the Kerala Blasters last season and took the side to the final, where they lost out to ATK on penalties.

Hossain is another firm fan favourite at the Kochi-based side, having been a part of the team for the last three season, which included two runs to the final.

The heart of the matter

However, the match between the two sides was yet another goalless affair as both teams cancelled each other out.

Incidentally, the result is each team's second stalemate in a row after Kerala drew against ATK in the season opener and Jamshedpur played out a 0-0 draw against NorthEast United FC.

After the match in the post-match presentation, Hossain graciously thanked the Kerala fans for their affection and stated that it was an honour playing in front of them and gave him a burst of energy.

What's next?

The Blasters take on Mumbai City FC in their next encounter at home on December 3. Jamshedpur, on the other hand, take on defending champions ATK on December 1 in what will be their first game at home.
