ISL 2017: Kerala Blasters vs NorthEast United FC, 5 Talking points
At long last, after five games, the Kerala Blasters finally won a match in ISL 2017. It came at home, after a 1-0 win against NorthEast United, courtesy of a goal from local lad CK Vineeth.
It was a match where emotions have charged and it featured one moment that had a significant impact on the game. Without any further ado, let's get to what made the news in this game.
First glimpse of Wes Brown
With one former Manchester United player injured in the last game, Rene Meulensteen turned to another former United man in his hour of need - Wes Brown.
However, it was in a midfield role as opposed to centre-back or right-back positions that he's played in throughout his career.
Meulensteen opted to go for a 4-1-4-1 formation with Brown playing in front of the back four as a defensive midfielder with Mark Sifneos playing up front once again.
This was Brown's debut in the competition.
