ISL 2017, Match 12: FC Goa vs Bengaluru FC, Player Ratings
FC Goa and Bengaluru FC played out a thriller at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa. In the end, the Gaurs just about managed to hold on as they registered a 4-3 win to inflict the first defeat on ISL newcomers, Bengaluru. Here are the player ratings from tonight's epic clash.
FC Goa - Player Ratings
Laxmikant Kattimani 4/10 - All eyes were on Goa's shot-stopper who once again could not keep a clean sheet. He let a ball slip once again between his legs and failed to command his penalty box.
Mohamed Ali 4/10 - The only reliable Goan defender on the pitch, Ali played the game with clarity and largely managed to keep Sunil Chhetri quiet. But he forgot that Bengaluru also have Miku in their line up.
Seriton Fernandes 2/10 - Goa's defenders did nothing major to change their notorious reputation of being a defensively weak team. Seriton, like Bruno, was far too pedestrian on the ball.
Bruno Pinheiro 2/10 - The Portuguese took too many risks at the back and always seemed on edge. Bruno failed to bring calm to Goa's back line and was too hyperactive as he continued to leak goals this season.
Narayan Das 3/10 - The left-back was invisible tonight and hardly made any kind of positive impact.
Ahmed Jahouh 4/10 - Among Goa's least influential player, Jahouh could not get on the ball as much as he would have liked. As a result, he was chasing the game for large parts of the match.
Brandon Fernandes 6/10 - The Indian midfielder looked at home against a quality outfit. He was confident and played the ball well into the empty pockets.
Manuel Lanzarote 7/10 - He was wise, making the most of Gurpreet's antics. Amidst all the chaos, he did well to coolly slot home the penalty and was always involved when Goa went forward.
Mandar Rao Dessai 5/10 - Did not make most of his opportunity. Given the fact that the opposition was down to ten men, Mandar ought to have done much better on the wings. He was largely silent and uninfluential.
Edu Bedia 7/10 - The Spanish playmaker was extremely positive and was never afraid to run right through the middle of the park. He regularly made inroads into Bengaluru's final third.
Ferran Corominas 10/10 - The forward scored a splendid solo goal to give Goa the lead. He was involved in the thick of things and was proactive in his approach. Ferran was duly rewarded with an opportunistic second and a lethal third. He did nothing wrong tonight.
Substitutes
Pronay Halder 5/10 - Came on in the second half to add some much-needed steel in the middle of the park and did his job well.
Manvir 4/10 - Was brought on to add some fresh legs but didn't impact the game much.
Arana N/A - Was introduced with five minutes remaining.
