ISL 2017: Seven players who have never switched clubs in Indian Super League
The Indian Super League has been the preferred league as far as the star Indian players go, and most of them left their I-League clubs to join the ISL bandwagon. The ISL, in its short span, has been able to catch the imagination of the Indian players.
Here, we take a look at players, who have remained loyal to their franchises and not moved to other franchises in search for more money. Only Indian players have been included in this list of players who have been playing for the same ISL lcub from the very first season.
Jeje Lalpekhlua (Chennaiyin FC)
The Mizo sniper is undoubtedly one of Indian football’s modern stars. Known for his agility and acrobatic nature, Jeje is a clinical poacher in the box and has scored 19 times in 45 appearances for the Indian national team.
Jeje has been a part of the Chennaiyin set up right from the beginning, and has been instrumental in making Chennaiyin champions during season two, and leading them to the top of the table during the first season. Jeje was one of the first players who was retained by Chennaiyin FC. There are also reports that he has agreed to sign a long term contract with the Chenna- based outfit. Jeje has amassed a total of 13 goals for Chennai in his three years at the club.
