FC Goa ended Mumbai City FC's nine-match unbeaten streak as they won by a scoreline of 2-0 at the Mumbai Football Arena on Friday in the ISL.

Edu Bedia and Coro hit the ball in the back of the net either side of half time as the latter became the all-time leading goalscorer in the Indian Super League with a calm and composed penalty.

The home side made one forced change as Modou Sougou was suspended and Matias Mirabaje replacing the prolific Senegalese forward in the starting line-up.

The away team manager, Sergio Lobera also made only one change to the side that could not score against Jamshedpur FC at home last week as Ahmed Jahouh came in for Hugo Boumous.

Just two minutes before the half-hour mark, a goalmouth scramble led to a goal from Goa’s Spanish midfielder as he slotted the ball past Amrinder Singh.

With the home side chasing the equalizer, Subashish Bose gave a penalty in the 79th minute with a needless challenge on Coro who stepped up to take the penalty himself and scored it with a cool head putting the ball in the bottom left corner after sending the Mumbai skipper the wrong way.

Let’s take a look at the five main talking points from the match.

#5 Mumbai City FC missed Modou Sougou

Without the Senegalese focal point in attack, Arnold Issoko's lung-busting runs behind the attack came of no use and Paulo Machado was also restricted well by the Goa defense.

The 34-year old was suspended after he picked up another yellow card in the win against Bengaluru FC and hence was replaced by Matias Mirabaje in the starting XI who failed to threaten the Goa defenders in any manner whatsoever.

Sougou has nine goals in 13 matches this season and has led his team from the front and a lot would be expected of him as Mumbai face crucial fixtures in the next 30 days.
