ISL 2018: Seityasen Singh rejects Kerala Blasters' offer, to sign for NorthEast United FC from Delhi Dynamos

In a complete u-turn, Delhi Dynamos winger Seityasen Singh has turned down an offer from Kerala Blasters to sign for NorthEast United FC.

The 26-year-old winger has had a rather disappointing season in the capital city, as Delhi Dynamos finished third from bottom in the league.

Previously, Seityasen was rumoured to have been close to joining 2014 and 2016 runners-up Kerala Blasters, who are currently managed by former Liverpool and ex-Manchester City goalkeeper David James.

However, the deal with the Kochi-based franchise did not fall through, as Seityasen eventually ended up signing a two-year deal with NorthEast United FC, Sportskeeda has learnt.

The 26-year-old, who started out his footballing career at the Royal Wahingdoh Club, has been a part of the ISL from the second season in 2015 when he was loaned out to NorthEast United FC. After the end of the loan, he was snapped up by Salgaocar, before moving back to NorthEast ahead of the 2016 season, this time, on a permanent deal.

The Highlanders, after the end of the 2016 season, had loaned him out to DSK Shivaians, where he had yet another I-League stint before he was picked up by Delhi Dynamos in the ISL player drafts.

However, Seityasen did not have much of a memorable time in the capital, making only 11 appearances in the ISL, clocking just a total of 504 minutes the entire season. However, the Manipuri winger has shown some promise during his short stay in Delhi, scoring one goal and providing three assists for the Lions.

Now, Seityasen looks all set to make his way back to Guwahati, where he had started out his ISL sojourn under former Chelsea manager Avram Grant. NorthEast had finished bottom of the league in the recently-concluded season, and the Israeli coach will be looking to rebuild his team in anticipation of the upcoming campaign.
