ISL Fantasy 2017: Tips for NorthEast United FC vs Bengaluru FC
Match 19 of ISL 2017 will pit NorthEast United FC against Bengaluru FC. NorthEast United won 2-0 against Delhi Dynamos which was their first win of the campaign, while Bengaluru FC lost their last match and will look to bounce back.
Goalkeepers
T.P Rehenesh: The NorthEast United shot-stopper with 11 clean sheets is only behind Subrata Paul in the list for the clean sheets in ISL. He has already kept 2 clean sheets in 3 matches and will look to prove his credentials by keeping out a rampant Bengaluru FC.
Defenders
Nirmal Chettri: The Bhaicung Bhutia soccer school product has impressed with his rugged defensive performances so far. Nirmal has attempted 17 tackles, the most by a NorthEast United player. His ability to get up and down the flanks means he can also pop up with attacking returns.
Jose Goncalves: The Portuguese defender has been superb so far for NorthEast United helping them keep 2 clean sheets in 3 matches and leading by example. The experienced defender has also been a threat on the set pieces due to his big frame. With Bengaluru FC conceding 4 goals in their last match including a set piece goal, Goncalves can be NorthEast United’s hero.
Harmanjot Khabra: The energetic Khabra has been deployed at right wing back position and has impressed with his energy and work rate. With Bengaluru FC going on the attack so far, Khabra has a chance to earn both attacking as well as defensive points.
Midfielders
Marcinho: The NorthEast United playmaker was bright in their first 2 matches and was unsurprisingly the man to break the deadlock for the Highlanders with a quality finish from a Halicharan Narzary cross. The Brazilian has attempted 7 shots so far, the joint most by any NorthEast United player.
Erik Paartalu: Eric Paartalu has scored 3 goals in ISL 2017 the most by a midfielder this season. The Australian has been a threat in set pieces scoring all his 3 goals with headers, out of which two were from corners. His recent goalscoring form means he just cannot be ignored.
Edu Garcia: Edu Garcia is the man who makes Bengaluru FC tick. The Spanish winger is a threat with his vision and dangerous set- pieces. He has contributed attacking returns in each of the 3 matches so far and is looking good for more.
Halicharan Narzary: The speedy winger started his first ISL match against Delhi Dynamos and made a big impact with his precise cross for the opening goal. The 23-year-old is expected to start his 2nd match and will be one of NorthEast United’s primary threat going forward.
Forwards
Miku: The former Getafe striker displayed skill, work rate and also displayed lethal finishing duly scoring 2 goals helping 10 men Bengaluru FC level the match despite being a man down. Miku has scored 3 goals so far and his quality means he just has to be in your team.
Danilo: The former Santos academy product was once again superb against Delhi Dynamos, tirelessly closing Delhi Dynamos defenders and holding the ball upfront for his fellow attackers to join the attack. He got the reward for his tireless display when he was in the right place to profit from an Albino Gomes lapse. With NorthEast United at home and expected to go on the attack Danilo can earn a few points.
Udanta Singh: The speedy forward is a threat due to his direct running and dribbling ability. He has got into some dangerous positions so far but has failed to provide the finishing touch. He has attempted 6 shots in the 3 matches so far and has also contributed defensively making 8 tackles in 3 matches.
