"It's not moral" - When a Spanish politician blasted Cristiano Ronaldo for driving Rolls Royce around Madrid days before Al Nassr move

Cristiano Ronaldo was once lambasted by Spanish politician Miguel Angel Revilla for driving his Rolls Royce around Madrid just days before his move to Al Nassr was announced. The Portuguese superstar had received the luxury car as a Christmas gift from his partner Georgina Rodriguez in December 2022.

Revilla served as the President of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria from 2003 to 2011 and 2015 to 2023. He tore into Ronaldo and Rodriguez for the expensive present amid the economic issues and inflation that were troubling the commoners.

During a programme on the Spanish TV show 'Mas Vale Tarde' in January 2023, host Cristina Pardo asked Revilla about the former Real Madrid man's actions. The Spaniard shockingly replied:

“I thought the present was p*rn*gr*phic. With what people are experiencing at the moment, that these things come out on TV it’s not moral. These types of attitudes seem like hard p*rn*gr*phy.”

Ronaldo's affinity for expensive cars is well-known and documented. The 39-year-old has a garage full of classics, including a Bugatti Centodieci ($9 million), McLaren Senna ($1 million) and a Ferrari 599 GTO ($385,000) among many others.

The Rolls Royce in question, a Phantom, was said to be worth a whopping $650,000. However, the amount simply paled in comparison to the reported €200 million-per-year contract he signed with Al-Nassr just days after the incident.

Since his move to Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has added three more Porsche cars, worth a combined $337,400, to his expansive collection of supercars.

Cristiano Ronaldo has made a lasting impact on Saudi Arabian football in his time with Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the first superstars to make the move to the Saudi Pro League when he joined Al-Nassr upon the termination of his contract with Manchester United.

The forward made an immediate impact with his incredible play, bagging 14 goals and two assists in just 19 games in the second half of the 2022-23 season. However, at the age of 39, he raised his level even higher.in the 2023-24 season.

In his first full season with Al Nassr, he racked up 44 goals and 13 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions, averaging a goal contribution every 70 minutes.

On June 5, he was announced as the league's Player of the Month for May due to his incredible six goals and an assist in five starts across the month. That marked his fifth POTM award in nine months of the league season, having previously won in August, September, December and March.

Ronaldo also broke the league's goal-scoring record in a single season with 35 goals in 31 games, surging past the 34 goals Abderrazak Hamdallah scored for Al Nassr in the 2018-19 campaign.
