It was the right decision to turn down Chelsea, says Jores Okore
New Aston Villa signing Jores Okore has said that he was right in turning down the offer from Chelsea and joining Aston Villa instead.
The 20-year-old defender, who penned down a four-year deal with Aston Villa, also said that a meeting with manager Paul Lambert also played an important part in his decision.
Okore told Sporten.dk: “I have a good feeling it was the right decision to turn down Chelsea. I feel that I have arrived at a club that believes in me. The manager has said all the right things and that has caught my attention. This is going to be good.”
Jan Laursen, who is the Sporting director of Okore’s former club FC Nordsjaelland, expressed his happiness that a club like Aston Villa are interested in signing their players and Laursen also said that Okore will now be a role model for the club’s young talent.
Sporting director Jan Laursen told the club’s website: “We are really proud of the fact that our huge investment on talent work is paying off with a huge transfer to the biggest league in the world. Jores will now be a role model for all of our other talented players.”
