Italian footballer accused of attacking TV crew
A television news crew from the northwestern Italian city of Genoa told police that AC Milan striker Antonio Cassano attacked them.
A reporter and camera man from local television station Telenord claim they were near Cassano’s home Tuesday, conducting man-on-the-street interviews about upcoming local elections when Cassano emerged from a car, shoved and insulted them, and drove away.
He apparently had the wrong impression the interviews were about him and told the cameraman he would “break his face in two”, the news crew said.
is infamous for his short temper which led former coach Fabio Capello to coin the expression “Cassanata” meaning not team like behaviour in soccer.
Cassano, 29, in November underwent minor heart surgery and is expected to be sidelined until April.
