Italian footballer adopts 4-day-old baby abandoned on train
This heart-warming story comes from Italy where Antonio Floro Flores, a forward at Serie A side Sassuolo, came forward to adopt a baby that was abandoned on a train.
The baby, less than a week old, was found hidden in a bag on a train near the city of Naples. The bag was found under the seats inside the train. Authorities have since failed to find the child’s parents.
Flores, who is also from Naples and a father of three children, heard about the story on the television news and discussed the possibility of adopting the baby with his wife. He then got in touch with the authorities to start the process of adopting the child.
The player even said on Twitter: “After seeing the profile of little Francesco, we followed what our hearts told us.
“Before being a player, I am a father. I’m certainly not a hero! We are going through the regular procedures.”
Dopo aver visto il piccolo Francesco, abbiamo seguito quello che dettava il cuore.sono padre prima che un calciatore, non certo un eroe!
