Italy's Sampdoria sack coach Delio Rossi
Rome, Nov 12 Struggling Sampdoria have fired coach Delio Rossi, who is a former Lazio and Fiorentina coach, the Italian Serie A club said.
Delio Rossi was sacked Monday after Sampdoria dropped into the relegation zone following their third defeat in a row Sunday at Fiorentina, reported Xinhua.
Youth team coach Francesco Pedone will take over training until a replacement for Rossi is found.
Italian press speculation has linked Serbia coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, who previously coached Bologna, Catania and Fiorentina, with the post.
Rossi, 52, lasted less than a year having only been hired last December, becomes the third Serie A coach fired this year.
Genoa’s Fabio Liverani, who was replaced by Gian Piero Gasperini, and Rolando Maran, succeeded at Catania by Luigi Di Canio, also had been fired.
