Jack Wilshere has loan offers from 22 clubs, Crystal Palace favourites to sign him
Yesterday it was reported that Arsene Wenger is keen to let Jack Wilshere leave on loan for this season in search of regular playing time. An astonishing 22 clubs have approached Arsenal with clubs from the Premier League, Serie A, and La Liga making an offer for the England international.
The frontrunner that has emerged in the last 24 hours is Premier League club Crystal Palace, who are now favourites to land the 24-year midfielder.
Crystal Palace have done tremendous business this summer, signing Christian Benteke, Andros Townsend and acquiring Loic Remy on loan. Jack Wilshere will add to Alan Pardew's new-look side and only personal terms are said to be agreed between the two parties.
His £80,000 wage has not been seen as a problem for the London side, who broke their transfer record this month to sign Christian Benteke for £27 million.
Set to stay in London
Palace seems the best choice for the England international as it is in London which would keep the 24-year-old to stay with his young family.
His father Andy has said that a move to a Selhurst Park would be the perfect opportunity for Wilshere to restart his career. West Brom, Watford, and Bournemouth are other Premier League clubs who are interested in taking him on loan.
Man City and Liverpool too would have tried to secure him on loan but Arsenal have made it clear that they won't let Wilshere leave to a top four rival.
Juventus were keen on the 24-year-old as were AS Roma, whose sporting director, Franco Baldini, got in touch with the Gunners. Valencia had tried their luck to sign Wilshere in January but failed to land sign the player who has two years left on his contract at Arsenal.
Xavi endorses Wilshere loan move
Xavi, who has been an ardent admirer of Wilshere, said, ”A loan move can be a good move for him. He needs to be playing, he needs to build up his fitness, and if he can do that I am sure he will still have a big career at Arsenal.”
“He is a young player, still, and if he can put the injuries behind him there is no reason why he still can't be one of the best midfield players in Europe. ”
Arsenal have already sent another youngster, Calum Chambers, on loan to Premier League Middlesborough yesterday.
Twitter had this to say about Wilshere’s potential move out of Arsenal:
