Mexico, meanwhile, bounced back from their 1-0 defeat in their final group game against Qatar, with a comfortable 2-0 win over Costa Rica in the quarterfinals. OrbelĂ­n Pineda opened the scoring from the spot in the 52nd minute before Erick Sanchez added a second in the 87th.
