Jamie Carragher trolls Gary Neville after Fenerbahce scored against Manchester United

Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville are a joy to watch when they are taking the mickey out of each other on live television. Often it is Neville who gets the upper hand but last night was about Carragher taking a pot at his former international colleague after Manchester United conceded an early goal against Fenerbahce.

We often see the duo rip each other apart during Man United – Liverpool games but the former Kop idol destroyed Neville last night after United went 1-0 down just two minutes after the kick-off.

United were taking on Fenerbahce in a Europa League group fixture in front of some volatile home fans. Prior to the kick-off, Neville tweeted in support of his former team and asked for some entertainment from Jose Mourinho’s men.

Carragher was waiting for United to slip up early and he was given a chance when Moussa Sow's brilliant overhead kick gave the hosts an early lead. Quoting Neville’s plea, former Liverpool defender tweeted:

Needless to say, Carragher won this bout and got the better of his ‘mate’. We are still waiting for Neville’s reply but like most Manchester United fans, the Sky Sports pundit must be busy finding answers to a horrible start to Jose Mourinho’s reign at Old Trafford.

United looked way off colour in their defeat against Fenerbahce and despite keeping more than 65% ball possession, the Red Devils did not look like creating enough chances to force their way back in the game.

Wayne Rooney’s wonder strike was a mere consolation for the visitors but his goal came too late in the game for United to even draw the game. The defeat has now pushed Man United to third in Group A with 6 points. Fenerbahce and Feyenoord are joint top with 7 points which has now left Mourinho with 2 games to ensure qualification to the knockout rounds.

Man United take on Swansea next in the Premier League after scoring just one league goal in the month of October and not winning a Premier League since their 4-1 thrashing of Leicester City on September 24.

Man United are currently 8th in the table and going by their defeat against Fenerbahce, I believe Carragher and other anti-United people will have a lot to laugh about in coming weeks until Mourinho sorts out the mess at Old Trafford.
