Jan Vertonghen not looking for a move away from Tottenham Hotspur
Former Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen has quashed rumours linking him with a move away from White Hart Lane and has insisted that he is happy at Tottenham.
Vertonghen has been linked with many clubs like inter Milan and AS Roma interested. Premier League rivals club Liverpool are also reported to be interested. The Belgium defender is currently waiting for Tottenham to appoint a new manager after interim manager TIm Sherwood was sacked at the end of the season.
Vertonghen said, "I've got a couple more years at Tottenham and I'm happy, and I want to stay there, so it doesn't matter who the manager will be,"
When asked about Ajax manager Fran de Boer being linked with the club, he said: "He (de Boer) is a good manager but there are other good managers as well so, again, the chairman will make a good decision."
Frank De Boer and Southampton manger Mauricio Pochettino are the current favourites to take over the managerial seat at White Hart Lane. And Vertonghen had played under Frank De Boer between 2010 and 2012 before joining Tottenham in 2012.
Jan Vertonghen has played 23 games for Spurs this season and has neither scored nor assisted a goal.
