Jardim: Monaco won't abandon attacking style in Champions League semis

Monaco head coach Leonardo Jardim

Leonardo Jardim insisted Monaco will stay true to their attacking philosophy after advancing to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Monaco booked their spot in the final four with another fine attacking display in Wednesday's 3-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund.

Kylian Mbappe, Radamel Falcao and Valere Germain were on target for Monaco as the Ligue 1 leaders - back in the Champions League semis for the first time since 2003-04 - triumphed 6-3 on aggregate against the Germans.

Titleholders Real Madrid, last year's runners-up Atletico Madrid or Juventus await in the semi-finals but Monaco will not abandon their style according to Jardim, who could not hide his pride post-match.

"All the players played to a high level and I'm very happy with the performance of all of them," Jardim said via UEFA.com.

"At this level you cannot set limits for your players. We are representing a whole country.

"France isn't used to having teams reach this stage of the competition."

"It could have been 5-3 or 6-3 because both teams missed several chances," he added. "We knew that they give a lot of space and we took advantage from it.

"Now, regardless of who we will take on next, we will be facing a very experienced team.

"We played a very solid game, we were in control but we showed ambition. We were always looking for the extra goal, that is the way we play, it is in our DNA.

"Our rivals will want to draw us [on Friday] but our ambition is to enjoy it and play with our attacking qualities like we always do."
