Everton’s Dutch defender John Heitinga‘s proposed move to West Ham United has fallen through, after the defender confirmed that he is not moving.

Here’s what Heitinga had to say:

“The deal has been cancelled. This has nothing to do with money, but is only about the feeling I got. This might be the most important decision of my career, so everything has to be just right. We reached the conclusion that this is not the case after we held talks.”

Rumour is rife that Newcastle United have offered Heitinga a better contract than what West Ham had to offer.
