John Terry's PFA Team of the Year is filled with Leicester City players

Chelsea's John Terry picks none of his teammates

Chelsea captain, John Terry, has picked a squad almost full of Leicester City players for his choice of the PFA Team of the Year. The Englishman's pick includes seven Leicester City players and none of his teammates. Terry also believes Algerian Riyad Mahrez is the deserving candidate for the PFA Player of the Year.

Leicester have set the world footballing stage alight this season with their incredible performances and the fact that they currently lead the Premier League table seven points ahead of North London side Tottenham Hotspur. Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy have often sloted the spotlight for their performances in the attacks but Terry acknowledges the effort multiple other players have put in for Claudio Ranieri.

Apart from Leicester's players, John Terry picked former Chelsea teammate Ryan Bertrand, compatriots Chris Smalling and Harry Kane and lastly French midfield star Dimitri Payet. Bertrand has been incredible for Southampton this season consistently starting and contributing excellently to their defensive and offensive plays.

Kane is the league's top scorer with Tottenham Hotspurs while Payet has mesmerised with his performances for the Hammers almost single-handedly winning them games with all kinds of goals. Terry picked Kane as his choice for the PFA Youth Player of the Year – an award given to the best performer under the age of 23.
