John Terry suffers ligament injury, set to miss Liverpool clash on Saturday
John Terry has been sidelined for 10 days after suffering a ligament injury against Swansea City on Sunday. The Chelsea captain had rolled his ankle towards the dying minutes of the game at The Liberty stadium which saw him leave the ground on crutches.
Scans revealed that the 35-year-old Chelsea captain had strained ligaments in his left ankle and will be certainly missing the game against Liverpool on Saturday.
Terry suffered the injury after colliding with Swansea City’s Leroy Fer late in the game. The defender posted on his social media account describing his injury. Terry could also be miss Chelsea’s EFL game against Leicester City on September 20.

"I have strained my ligaments in my ankle which means I will be out for 10 days. Absolutely gutted, but will be giving everything to get back playing."
The club had also released an official statement regarding the Chelsea FC captain’s injury.
"John Terry's injury suffered in Sunday's game at Swansea is strained ligaments in his foot. He will be out for approximately 10 days," Chelsea said in a statement.
"Our captain was injured in the closing minutes of the 2-2 draw at the Liberty Stadium. He completed the game in pain and Antonio Conte confirmed afterwards the problem would need medical assessment."
Chelsea FC manager Antonio Conte was not pleased with his team’s defending in the game against Swansea after the game ended in a 2-2 draw as the Blues dropped its first points of the season far. In the absence of the experienced centre-back, the returning David Luiz is expected to play his first game for the club after his £32 million transfer from Paris Saint-Germain on the deadline day of transfer window.

The Brazilian centre-back was sold by Chelsea FC for £50 million in 2014 to Paris Saint-Germain which saw David Luiz become the most expensive defender in world football.
Luiz was left on the bench last week for the game against Swansea after Antonio Conte stated that the Brazilian was not completely fit to start. With Terry out, the Brazilian is expected to take his place in the defence alongside Gary Cahill.
Chelsea FC will be taking on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Klopp’s men had earlier thrashed defending champions Leicester City 4-1 last week. Antonio Conte will be hoping that his defence can stand their ground against Red’s fierce attack of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge.
