Juventus director Marotta claims Alvaro Morata does not want to go to Real Madrid
Real Madrid are rumoured to be interested in securing the services of Alvaro Morata after the end of this season. The Spanish giants have a buyback clause for the young striker and could exercise that option at the end of this season.
Juventus director Marotta revealed that the Spaniard wants to stay in Turin. He, however, admitted that the situation regarding Morata’s future was unclear.
"Some situations, such as that of Morata, do not depend on us," he told Mediaset Premium.
"We want to keep the lad and have to discuss it with Real Madrid. His destiny also depends on Real Madrid's, as they are currently active in La Liga and the Champions League.
"The player improved and grew a great deal with us, while he feels bonded to our club colours.
"He wants to stay with Juventus, but obviously Real Madrid have everything needed to change his mind."
Marotta added that Juve want to keep veteran defender Patrice Evra and will discuss a new contract with the France international soon.
"He is very happy at Juventus and he'll decide based on his family needs," the director said.
"We want to continue with him and will talk to the player over the next few weeks."
Morata confirms possibility of Real Madrid return
Juventus striker Alvaro Morata says there is a possibility he might return to his former football club Real Madrid
"The possibility that I return to Real Madrid is real," Morata was quoted as saying by football-italia.net.
"I appreciate the words of (club's Director of Institutional Relations Emilio) Butragueño, where he said that I'm part of the Real Madrid family," he said.
"He's a Spanish football legend, and when a legend speaks so well of you it's inevitable that you'll feel appreciated."
"I have to stay focused on the pitch, but obviously, I think about the future and the possibility of me returning is real," he said.
"I'm fine in Italy, and at Juventus I feel at home.”
Morata is one of the most wanted players in this summer transfer window with a host of big teams being linked to the young Spaniard. Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid are all credited with having an interest in the talented youngster and Juventus have a really tough task in hand if they want to retain the services of Alvaro Morata.
