Juventus injury news: Paulo Dybala and Claudio Marchisio ruled out of Bayern Munich clash

Paulo Dybala has scored 14 league goals this season

Juventus on Tuesday announced that injured striker Paulo Dybala and midfielder Claudio Marchisio will miss Wednesday's Champions League's second leg of the pre-quarterfinal against Bayern Munich, in a big blow for the Italian football champions.

The Old Lady travel to Bavaria for the second leg after a 2-2 draw in Turin in the first tie last month.

"After reporting discomfort during Monday's training session, Tuesday's medical examinations taken by the Argentine Dybala revealed a swollen soleus muscle," Juventus said in a statement.

"He will therefore, remain in Turin where his condition will be monitored ahead of Sunday's Serie A fixture against Torino."

Marchisio, meanwhile, reported discomfort in his left calf during Monday's workout. Tests conducted on Monday evening showed up a first-grade tear in his soleus muscle, an injury which is expected to keep the midfielder out for 20 days.

Dybala has scored 14 goals in the Serie A so far, while Marchisio is a key figure in the team's structure.

The match will take place at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
