Juventus's Allegri named best coach in Serie A
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has been named Seria A's best coach of the last season, in an event organised by the Italian Football Federation.
Juventus won the Seria A and the Italian Cup, also reaching the final of the Champions League before falling to Spain's FC Barcelona. The event was organised here on Monday.
"This award has important meaning because it means the whole team did well. I thank the players, the staff and the whole club," Allegri said on Monday.
The Italian coach, who got 27 votes out of the 51 participating managers, reiterated that he wants to stay at Juventus.
"Next year I'll still be coach of Juventus because I still have another year on my contract," the coach added.
Allegri was followed by former Lazio coach Stefano Pioli. Current Napoli coach Walter Mazzari, with Empoli last year, came in third.
