'Juventus should consider Dybala-Koulibaly swap', says former club president
What's the story?
Former Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has suggested that the Old Lady should consider a swap deal that involves Paulo Dybala and Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
In case you didn't know...
Dybala has not had the best of seasons since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo last summer, having netted only four goals in 18 Serie A appearances so far this season. The numbers are discouragingly low compared to his 22 league goals last campaign.
The 25-year-old infamously got into a rift with manager Max Allegri after he left the bench before the final whistle during Juventus's 3-3 at home to Parma a few weeks ago. The issue has since been resolved after Dybala apologised for his behaviour.
While the Argentine striker has attracted interest from European giants like Manchester United and Real Madrid, Koulibaly has also been heavily linked with a move away from Napoli with the Red Devils reported to be very interested in his services.
The heart of the matter
Former club president Cobolli Gigli believes that, given the circumstances, a swap deal between the two players would be incredibly beneficial for both the players.
Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss (via Goal), he said: "I think Dybala needs a new experience and Napoli would be good for him. Ancelotti can be the right solution for him. It would be ideal for his career. However, Dybala would cost around €130 million but if I were Juve I'd do anything to sign Koulibaly."
What's next?
Juventus are very comfortable at the top of the Serie A table with Napoli trailing 13 points behind in second place.
The two rivals are scheduled to face one another in the Serie A on Sunday.
