Juventus Tour 2016/17 fixtures: List of pre-season friendlies the Bianconeri play before Serie A

Juventus will take part in the International Champions Cup as a part of their pre-season preparation ahead of the upcoming season. The Italian champions will travel to Australia where they will take on Melbourne Victory on 23 July in Melbourne. Massimiliano Allegri will look to improve upon the Bianconeri’s performance on the European stage next season and pre-season will be crucial in finding the right balance in the squad.

Juventus won the Italian Serie A last season for a fifth consecutive time. They have dominated the Italian league in recent history and there is little doubt that things will change next season. However, the Champions League is a competition where they will be looking to improve after having reached the finals in the 2014-15 season where they lost to a treble-winning Barcelona side.

Star-defender Dani Alves has already joined their roster this season and with the likes of young Paul Pogba and the evergreen Gianluigi Buffon, Juventus are a side to take note of in Europe.

The International Champions Cup is taking place in Australia, China, United States and in Europe next season and Juventus will participate in the Australian Edition this year. After their match against Melbourne Victory, they will go up against Tottenham Hotspur on 26 July 2016 in Melbourne. This match will be the Bianconeri’s first test against real opposition where players from international duty are also expected to return.

From Australia, Juventus’ summer preparations will include a short trip to Hong Kong where they take on South China on 30 July. The match will see the most successful sides from Italy and Hong Kong facing each other and an opportunity for Juventus to widen its fan base in Asia.

Juventus last visited Hong Kong in 2008 when Claudio Ranieri was the manager and they had faced the same opponents then.

Giorgio Ricci, Head of Global Partnerships and Corporate Revenues at Juventus, said: “We are excited to be returning to Hong Kong, especially to play against a strong, traditional side like South China,

“The fixture represents another important stage in our pre-season campaign, forming the perfect next step following the International Champions Cup in Australia.”

He concluded: “We look forward to returning to Hong Kong to entertain the many Juventus supporters in the city. I am sure that the match will be an exciting one for the local football fans and a highlight of their summer.”

Juventus have another friendly scheduled on 7 August against English side West Ham United in London.
