Juventus transfer news: Pep Guardiola's announcement date as Bianconeri boss revealed
What's the story?
Following rumours that Pep Guardiola has signed a four-year deal at Juventus, new reports have emerged which claim that the Manchester City boss will be officially unveiled as the successor to Massimiliano Allegri next month.
In case you didn't know...
In the last few days, reports from Italy and England have claimed that Guardiola had met with Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici in Milan. The meeting reportedly led to the Manchester City boss accepting the terms for the managerial job in Turin. It was also alleged that the former Barcelona manager had signed a four-year deal with the club.
Since Allegri's departure, a number of big names have been associated with the role, including former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, Tottenham Hotspur's Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea's Maurizio Sarri and Antonio Conte.
Hours after the Guardiola claims were made, however, conflicting reports that Pochettino has signed a five-year-contract with the Old Lady also emerged.
The heart of the matter
Reports in Italy have now claimed that the announcement date for Guardiola's new managerial undertaking has been set, with the Spaniard set to leave the Etihad despite having two years left on his contract.
It is believed that Guardiola's top priority at Manchester City was to win his first Champions League title since 2011 but his failure to do so in the last three years has prompted him to find inspiration elsewhere.
The former Barcelona manager will reportedly be announced as the new Juventus boss on June 14.
What's next?
There are currently too many conflicting reports regarding the Juventus opening to establish if any is true. After having won a historic domestic treble with Manchester City, Guardiola may have just found the right amount of confidence to tackle the Champions League with them next season.
Meanwhile, Pochettino is helping the Spurs prepare for their titular clash with Liverpool in the Champions League final on June 1.
Only time will tell if either one will make a move to the Serie A giants
