Juventus Transfer Rumours: Club prepares sensational bid for Gonzalo Higuain, Arsenal still interested

Gonzalo Higuain was the top scorer in Serie A last season

Italian champions Juventus are believed to be preparing a stunning offer for Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain. The 2014-15 Champions League finalists seem to be determined to capture Europe’s most coveted trophy and are ready to go all out to secure a star name for their attack.

Juventus have already agreed a €7.5 million net salary with Higuain’s representatives and the player has given his go-ahead for the deal and in signing a 4-year contract with the Bianconeri according to Sky Italia.

Juve’s first approach will apparently be to offer a series of players in order to lower the cash required for the Argentine’s capture as much as possible. Roberto Pereyra, the Juve attacking midfielder, worth around  €18 million will obviously be a part of the deal, and additionally, Simone Zaza and Daniele Rugani will also be included.

Rugani is a defender that Maurizio Sarri, Napoli’s coach has worked with before and is a huge admirer of. It was only a few days back that Juventus turned down a very generous offer for the 21-year-old future defensive star as well, from Arsenal.

Stefano Sturaro could also be a part of the multi-player swap that Juve will initially propose, in a remarkable deal that could see 4 promising players (and cash) move to the San Paolo in exchange for Higuain’s signature.

If Aurelio De Laurentiis, Napoli’s charismatic owner turns this down, however, Juve are even believed to be contemplating meeting the player’s release clause of €94 million, which would make this the most stunning transfer of the global market yet.

The 28-year-old forward just enjoyed the best season of his life with Napoli, shattering Serie A records on his way to scoring 36 goals in 35 league games.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are also said to be monitoring the situation very closely, with Arsene Wenger also keen to add a top quality striker to his squad. Arsenal’s offer is believed to be around €60 million plus Olivier Giroud, a player that Maurizio Sarri is apparently a fan of.

With the news that Higuain seems determined to leave Naples. there might well be a whole host of clubs that now begin to knock at De Laurentiis’s door now. Chelsea and Paris Saint German, both clubs interested in Higuain in the past, might also make a serious approach to acquire him soon.
