Kalidou Koulibaly opens up on his move away from Napoli
What's the story?
Manchester United's long term target Kalidou Koulibaly admits that he is 'pleased' at the interest surrounding him. Although he is happy at Napoli, the Senegal international doesn't rule out a move to other European clubs.
In case you didn't know..
Koulibaly joined his current club Napoli in 2014 on a five-year contract at £6.5 million. The tall defender has been the regular starter for the Italian giants since joining them. He is one of the quickest and physically strong defenders in the world.
The defender has been on the radar of some European clubs viz Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea. However, Manchester United have been at the forefront for landing the defender and are expected to bring him to Old Trafford in summer.
The heart of the matter
Koulibaly spoke to Italian Sports TV channel Rai Sport, and when asked about his future, he said, "My future? I don't know if I'm one of the strongest defenders. I always try to give my best. Since I'm here, I always try to grow with Napoli. I have a lot of motivation to go on, and I want to keep doing this."
The centre-back also admitted that he is flattered with interest from other clubs and said, "I am pleased that many teams follow me, but I want to demonstrate on the field that I am at the level of the greatest and I want to show it in the future."
