Barcelona and Atletico Madrid maintained their excellent start to the season as they saw off their respective opponents to maintain a 100 percent win record in La Liga. Let’s take a look at the results below:
Barcelona 4-1 Real Sociedad
Barcelona stamped their authority yet again as they comfortably dismantled Real Sociedad 4-1 at Nou Camp.
Barcelona opened the scoring in the 5th minute as Neymar tapped home an easy goal that was set up by Lionel Messi. Neymar returned the favour in the 8th minute, and Lionel Messi ensured the scoreline was 2-0 in under 10 minutes as he scored from a diving header.
Things got worse for the away side as Sergio Busquets scored a great goal from outside the box in the 23rd minute. The scoreline read 3-0 at the half time interval.
Barcelona continued their domination, but were caught on the break as Alberto de la Bella managed to score the consolation goal for Sociedad in the 64th minute.
However, Barca were not done yet and added yet another goal to their tally via Marc Bartra in the 77th minute. The scoreline remained the same till the end of the game as Barca find themselves on top of the table.
Atletico Madrid 2-1 Osasuna
Atletico Madrid, too, continued their dream start to the season as they saw off Osasuna’s challenge and came away with a 2-1 home victory.
Diego Costa gave the hosts a dream start, scoring two goals in the first 25 minutes of the game. Osasuna, however, hit back in the 42nd minute via Oriol Riera as the first half ended with the scoreline reading 2-1.
Even though the second half didn’t see any goals being scored, there were plenty of chances for both sides, who were unable to make the best of the opportunities. In the end, Atletico managed to hold on for a tight win that keeps them level on points with champions Barcelona.
In the other games of the night, Malaga beat Almeria 2-0 at home, with Fernando Tissone and Portillo finding themselves on the scoresheet.
Meanwhile, Levante and Valladolid played out a 1-1 draw. Baba scored for Levante, while Javi Guerra scored for Valladolid.
