Latest UEFA coefficient rankings for 2012/13

BARCELONA, SPAIN – NOVEMBER 17: Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona (2ndL) celebrates with his teammates after scoring his team’s third goal during the La Liga match between FC Barcelona and Real Zaragoza at Camp Nou on November 17, 2012 in Barcelona, Spain. FC Barcelona won 3-1.

NOTE: Club coefficient rankings are based on a formula devised by UEFA for the purpose of seeding clubs in European competitions like the Europa League and Champions League. The club coefficient is the sum of the points earned by the club over the five seasons in European competitions only plus 20% of the club’s association coefficient. This helps in determining how to place a club in the first few rounds of the tournament, and ensures that two top-seeded clubs do not clash very early in the competition.
