Lazar Markovic expected in Liverpool on Wednesday for talks and a medical, claim reports
Benfica’s young star, Lazar Markovic, is expected in Liverpool on Wednesday for more talks over his transfer and to complete a medical ahead of his move to Anfield, according to reports in Portugal.
Markovic, 20, starred for the Portuguese club last season as they dropped out of the Champions League and into the Europa League where they reached the final but were beaten on penalties by Sevilla.
He played a key role in attacking midfield as his pace, driving runs and trickery were vital for Benfica moving forward. They won the domestic title in Portugal as well as the domestic cup to cap off a successful season, but Markovic’s time at the club now seems over.
Reports suggested over the last couple of days that Liverpool had agreed a fee of £19.8 million for Markovic so it comes as no surprise to see sections of the Portuguese media reporting that he will complete his medical later this week.

Liverpool are moving fast in the transfer market this summer with Markovic set to be their fourth signing, following Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Emre Can, despite not reaching the second week of July yet.
