Lazio defender Luciano Zauri plays hero, saves girl from well!
Lazio defender Luciano Zauri has become a hero in Italy after he lowered himself into a well to rescue the granddaughter of Poland’s Football Association president, Zbigniew Boniek. The seven year old girl fell into a four meter deep well of a restaurant she had visited.
La Repubblica, an Italian paper, reported that Zauri was happened to be in the same restaurant and was lowered to save the child.
The girl apparently fell through a temporary cover of the four metre deep well.
According to the Guardian, the well was located in the bathroom of the restaurant and the girl fell through the loose covering while looking in the mirror.
It was then that Zauri stepped in and lowered himself into the well with a rope tied around him, and pulled the girl out.
The girl suffered just minor bruises and was taken to a hospital. She is the daughter of former Italian tennis player Vincenzo Santopadre and Karolina Boniek, the daughter of Zbigniew Boniek, who played for Juventus and Roma.
