Best fan reactions on Twitter as Manchester United sign Luke Shaw from Southampton
Luke Shaw has finally joined Man United. After months of speculation of deals being agreed, and then not being agreed – the transfer has finally been sealed.
The move has been one of the most topical football conversations over the summer, as the deal by all accounts is massive. Man United have splashed over £25million on a player who is just 18-year-old. Furthermore, if reports are to be believed, Man United are paying Shaw around £100k a week.
Looking at the England star’s statistics, he certainly has immense potential. The left-back has won 61 tackles, at a success rate of 59%. While defender has also won 59 of his headers – with a win rate of 55%. The new Man United man averages around five Defensive Actions per game. While in total, he has made 37 interceptions and made 150 clearances over the course of last season.

Luke Shaw created 34 chances in the Premier League last season. No defender under the age of 24 created more. #MUFC

£30m for Shaw could sound like a hefty fee. However, I'm confident he'll have a breakout & become a dependable LB for the next 15 years.

Luke Shaw: "I’m really excited to be working with Evra. He’s been one of the best left-backs in the league for the last few years."

Credit to Moyes for laying down the foundation for the Herrera and Shaw moves. Good young talents, the type Van Gaal likes to work with.

I'd say a step up to Man Utd from Southampton was quite enough for Luke Shaw, CL or not.

Physically, Shaw's an absolute specimen, which makes it all the more ludicrous he was released by #CFC for being too small. At EIGHT yrs old
