Liberian Eric Brown leaves ONGC, signs for Prayag United SC

ONGC’s Liberian striker Eric Brown has signed a two-year contract with Kolkata side Prayag United SC.

Brown had a good first I-League season for the Oilmen scoring seven goals in the I-League and helping the team to a mid-table finish. After being released by Mumbai FC with the arrival of Yusif Yakubu at the end of the 2012 Federation Cup, ONGC offered Brown the opportunity to continue to play in the I-League. Despite joining the team after four matches of the first round, Brown struck a lethal partnership upfront with Japanese counterpart Katsumi Yusa. Brown went on to win four Man-of-the-Match awards, which helped turn the team’s fortunes under new coach Santosh Kashyap.

Eric Brown is represented by Libero Sports, whose partner Arvind Narayan said about his client: “Eric is a quality player and will support Prayag’s ambitions of creating a title challenging squad. We wish him all the best.”
