Lionel Messi comforted Paulo Dybala after his red card against Uruguay
Lionel Messi once again showed why he is not only a great player but also a mentor to his younger teammates. On his return from international retirement against Uruguay, he once again inspired his side to victory scoring the only goal of the game.
There were many important highlights from the game, including the secret conversation Messi had with his Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez but the most notable one was Paolo Dybala’s sending off on his Argentina debut.
The ARgeitna was prolific for Juventus last season, and it was a surprise he was only called up to the national squad only recently. When you have the likes of Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain in your team it might a be a little understandable.
Dybala had an excellent debut where he even hit the post, and was unlucky not to score but his debut turned from success to nightmare in a couple of minutes after he was shown a straight red.
Messi if you remember also had a traumatic experience in his debut after being sent off after being on the pitch for mere seconds!
Dybala spoke to outlet Ole, ”Now I am calm, but Thursday was bad. It was an ugly moment, because it was a special day and it didn't go how I hoped. I was left with a sensation in the chest that I've never had before.”
"Or actually, once. With Instituto, when we could not go up in 2012. But this time it was stronger than me. Because I don't cry. At home nobody's seen me cry. And now the whole country has. And the world.”
"Leo Messi told me to be calm, that these things happen, that it was not my fault but the referee's. I felt good, comfortable playing with Messi. We had spoken in training about how I was going to play, depending where Leo was positioned, I would change with him. If he was in the middle, “
“I'd go wide. I'd never played with Messi. My dream was to do that, and I did. I enjoyed it until the referee sent me off. I tried to help because he is the leader of the team. It's incredible to play by his side.”
It looks like Dybala and Messi have already formed a great partnership. This will no doubt help the youngster improve. It’s not every day one get’s the opportunity to play alongside the best player in the world.
